Sell out! NFT sales to increase more than 200 times year-on-year in 2021

NFT (non-homogenized tokens) sales reach approximately $25 billion in 2021 and only $94.9 million in 2020, an increase of over 200 times year-over-year. In addition, NFT sales grew to $10.7 billion in the third quarter from $1.3 billion in the second quarter, however, the fourth quarter showed signs of slowing growth with sales of $11.6 billion.

The figures given differ due to different tracking agencies; CryptoSlam sees only $18.3 billion in NFT sales in 2021; NonFungible.com puts it at $15.7 billion.

NFT Sales Fluctuations Unrelated to Cryptocurrency Prices

Data provided by OpenSea, the world's largest NFT trading platform, shows that NFT trading in 2021 reached a high in August, declined in September, October and November, and climbed again in December.
